Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
