Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
