'The president seems unhinged': Trump's online behavior appears more bizarre.
For numerous onlookers, domestically and overseas, the former president has been behaving strangely in recent times. Particularly on social media.
Current Online Events
When a potential government closure neared in the US last week, the commander-in-chief published an AI video portraying the Democratic leader, the pioneering Black congressional leader, sporting a Mexican hat and amplified facial hair, accompanied by mariachi tunes in the background.
Hispanic groups criticized Trump's posts labeling them "racist", "dangerous" and "reprehensible", but Trump doubled down, sharing another clip which showed himself donning the hat performing on guitar with a representation of the minority leader.
Artificial Intelligence Posts and Speculative Ideas
This represented merely one example where Trump's behavior has seemed unusual. Last weekend the president shared on his social platform an AI-generated fake video that advocated "therapeutic bed centers".
"Every American will soon receive their own med bed card," the computer-generated president ostensibly in the presidential office said. Through this, you'll possess guaranteed access to our fresh medical facilities managed by leading physicians across the country."
Disregarding the truth that the notion of "therapeutic beds" is a rightwing conspiracy theory – a particular iteration suggests that official bodies and/or a group of wealthy Americans control sophisticated health technology that can cure almost every illness, yet are concealing the innovation – the social media entry caused a number of questions.
Administration Reaction
The entry was finally taken down, however it stays confusing, and the administration's reaction failed to reduce the confusion.
I believe the commander-in-chief viewed the clip and published it, and then took it down," Karoline Leavitt stated during questioning about the clip.
Other Concerning Events
During a latest address within the executive mansion wherein the president asserted – opposing current scientific consensus – that acetaminophen might relate to autism if used by expectant mothers, the president puzzlingly mentioned about "specific aspects of brilliance that might be bestowed upon infants".
The previous week, through a news conference alongside UK leader Keir Starmer, Trump mistakenly identified Albania with Armenia during conversation about a diplomatic settlement struck between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Michigan Shooting Reaction
Back in the social media world, recently the president posted via his preferred network that he had "been briefed" about a shooting at a Latter-day Saint church in Michigan resulting in four fatalities.
He did indeed post again. But it was not an update about the continuing incident in Michigan. Instead, three hours later, he posted footage featuring various gold-plated items and ornaments.
Military Address
Beyond the bewildering social media activity, the president's in-person appearances have also become odd.
The other day, the president called America's premier defense officials to a meeting in Virginia. Talking to high-ranking officers, Trump, sounding drained, promoted his claimed achievements.
"America is respected again as a country. The nation wasn't esteemed during Biden's tenure," Trump continued. They witnessed him tumbling on staircases regularly. Constantly, the individual stumbles on steps."
Government Comments
The speech generated instant worry, including from former military members. Former General Barry McCaffrey stated on television that the commander-in-chief's delivery constituted "some of the most peculiar, concerning occurrences I've experienced".
"The president seemed confused, exhausted, highly divisive, at times stupid," McCaffrey said.
Trump's presentation proved sufficient for Representative Madeleine Dean, a Pennsylvania Democratic representative, to approach the Republican House speaker, Mike Johnson.
"The president is unhinged. He seems unhealthy," Dean told Johnson.
Johnson looked untroubled by the remarks. "Well many individuals on your side are too," Johnson responded.
