Trump's Family Member Receives Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut
The rising star has impressive social media presence
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile backers as she makes her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa practically told me to compete and relax," she continued.
"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has played in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has position 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."
Kai will face some of top competitors in the sport at the competition, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence brings the sport to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.
The young star has a massive following and just introduced an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
