Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
